We are looking for an experienced and strategic-minded Managing Director for Šiauliai Transport Base @ Girteka Transport. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our transport base operations, driver management and maintenance/service spot (truck repair). This role requires a strong leader with a proven track record of driving operational excellence and achieving business effectiveness objectives.

In this position you will:

• Lead the team of 70 office colleagues, 230 maintenance colleagues and 7,000 drivers together with your own strong management team of local HR and Head of Transport.

• In collaboration with headquarters leadership team, develop strategic plan for growth, optimization and retaining our lowest cost culture.

• Manage flow of drivers, trucks, maintenance and preparation for truck sales based on flow numbers provided by headquarters.

• Ensure efficient purchasing and stock levels of centrally procured spare parts, goods and other usable material in the maintenance shop and on the base.

• Ensure analysis and report on the operational KPIs and all financial aspects related to the entity in order to take decisive actions and properly plan for achieving objectives.

• Ensure that leaders Plan & monitor day-to-day operation with clear KPIs

• Take ownership of LEAN process excellence in all areas of the base with a focus on continuous improvement.

• Ad hoc handle relationships with external parties, represent Girteka in all local institutions, ideally through team members.

• Ensure organization’s activities and operations are carried out in compliance with policies, local and country laws and regulations governing business operations.

• Hire, lead and develop a strong base leadership team with potential for future growth.

• Foster a culture of Respect for People, Developing Team and Embracing Operational Excellence mindset to drive a results and accountability to meet customer needs and performance expectations.

• Foster a one-company-culture to create a positive working atmosphere based on the core values, a safe work environment and increase people engagement.

Our expectations:

• Experience in running large scale business with strong focus on cost effectiveness (production, supply chain or transport/logistics business).

• 5 years’ experience as a senior leader, ideally with multi-functional responsibility.

• Green belt or black belt certification is a strong plus.

• Fluent Lithuanian language, English spoken and written as a must.

• Demonstrated ability to lead and engage teams. The ideal candidate can work bottom-up through people due to his / her inspirational leadership style

• High energy, charismatic, action-oriented personality who can build, inspire and motivate a team in an evolving environment.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills and the flexibility to operate well in a rapidly changing, often high-pressure environment.

• Ability to negotiate, compromise, and influence different levels of organization including senior executive.

Remuneration offered

• Base monthly salary from €8100 to €9720 (before tax)
• Bonus scheme
• Company car with fuel limit
• The specific salary offer will depend on the candidate‘s experience, competencies displayed, and suitability to the requirements of the position.
