UAB Essential Phosphates is a chemical technology company specializing in the development of high-value products, innovative processes, and alternative technologies. Today, a highly qualified international scientific team of 15 professionals, including five PhDs, is advancing cutting-edge DNA synthesis technology that promises to surpass current methods in terms of speed, quality, and yield. As part of its recent project on bioactive material production, UAB Essential Phosphate successfully launched its new brand – Coenza Lab. The brand emerged as a strategic diversification initiative and has since developed a product that meets exceptionally high purity standards in the Coenzyme A derivatives segment.
Backed by early market validation, Coenza Lab is already engaged in global B2B and B2C sales through distribution partners. B2B clients include large-scale life sciences manufacturers and solution providers, while B2C clients range from academic institutions to specialized research centers.
The business now requires an experienced and strategically minded Head of Business Unit to lead Coenza Labs from its current early-stage operations into a mature and scalable unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead execution of the strategic vision, product roadmap, and commercial growth in B2B (pharma, biotech, distributors, agents) and B2C (academia/institutes).
- Oversee manufacturing scale-up: ensure high-purity organic synthesis products, control costs, establish processes, and secure necessary certifications (e.g., GMP, ISO).
- Build and manage the team as it grows beyond 5 people.
- Expand product portfolio beyond CoA derivatives – explore opportunities in other high-value compounds derived from organic synthesis.
- Establish global sales & distribution channels; strengthen brand identity in a trust‑driven market.
- Engage and manage key clients (major industry players).
Candidate Profile
- Background in organic chemistry/ biochemistry/ molecular biology or relative field.
- It’s preferable but not obligatory to have a strong understanding of products for biotech and processes in organic synthesis – (product portfolio include: Coenzyme A and its derivatives, modified nucleosides and nucleotides, etc).
- 3+ years in biotech, chemical, or life-science manufacturing with a commercial edge — able to lead a small team and scale.
- Product management understanding: able to bridge technical production with client needs.
- Strong network within global pharma/biotech suppliers, distributors, research centers would be a great plus.
- BizDev experience in Europe and/or USA markets.
- Budget building and control, resource planning experience.
- Track record in scaling product teams, building market entry plans, and investor communications would be a great plus.
- Strong communicator, fluent in English, capable of representing brand and negotiating deals.
- Willingness to relocate to Vilnius; work on-site; ready to take ownership of an early-stage, investor-backed venture.
